Surgical practice
The philosophy of reconstructive restoration of functions, regional assistance, military surgery, medical ethics, and 30% of charitable surgery.
"Reconstructive surgery is intended to help people, save lives, and not to reshape the body according to the whims of fashion." This approach determines the clinical focus of the institute on the most complex cases of congenital and acquired defects, oncological reconstructions, and post-traumatic interventions.
The key difference in the institute's positioning: the focus is not on "making beautiful", but on "returning lost function":
Functional restoration
Returning the ability to breathe (after nasal and facial injuries), speak (after maxillofacial surgeries), chew (jaw reconstruction), move (after burns and scar contractures).
Psychosocial rehabilitation
Returning the patient to active public life, profession, and family without the stigma and psychological burden of an external defect.
Multidisciplinary team
Plastic surgeon, maxillofacial specialist, otolaryngologist, oncosurgeon, and rehabilitator work together in a single operating room.
Military surgery — surgery of gunshot and mine-explosive wounds as one of the 28 specialized areas of the institute.
Wounds of the head, neck, and soft tissues
Reconstruction of defects after gunshot injuries, removal of foreign bodies, elimination of scar deformities, and cooperation with military hospitals.
24/7 Maxillofacial Trauma Center
Emergency assistance for severe facial bone fractures and craniofacial injuries around the clock 7 days a week.
Ivano-Frankivsk Central City Clinical Hospital
Valikhnovski regularly operates in the Central City Clinical Hospital of Ivano-Frankivsk, maintaining a connection with his hometown and passing on his experience to doctors of Prykarpattia.
Nominal scholarship (from 11/18/2025)
Scholarship program for TNMU students whose parents died for Ukraine: scholarship, free training at the Academy, assisting, and international training.
The clinic consistently supports patients who require complex reconstruction but cannot afford it: children with congenital defects, wounded defenders, and low-income citizens.
Harvard / Shriners Boston
Joint surgeries for Ukrainian children with cleft palate since 2019.
Discovery BODY BIZARRE
Public cases of highly complex reconstructions, in particular the treatment of a patient with the rare Madelung's disease.
Expertise in media projects
"Return My Beauty" (1+1), "I Am Ashamed of My Body" (STB), "Ukraine Speaks", "Concerns Everyone" (Inter).
Professional restrictions of a doctor
Valikhnovski publicly speaks out against the subordination of surgery to trends and aggressive marketing. He emphasizes the long-term responsibility of the doctor for the health of the patient ("I would not change a patient's sex for any money," 2015).
Treatment of top state officials
Treatment of President Viktor Yushchenko after dioxin poisoning. Rostyslav Valikhnovski personally performed six surgeries on facial reconstruction within an international team that performed about 30 plastic interventions.
